# Huluku Labs — Foundation and Brand Guidelines

Updated October 21, 2026

Intelligence from the ground up

## Foundation

Huluku Labs exists to expand people’s ability to build, own, and benefit from the systems shaping their lives.

### Our starting belief

Our starting belief is that people and places hold more possibility than their circumstances allow them to express. Knowledge, creativity, land, energy, and enterprise exist everywhere. The means to organize those resources into lasting prosperity are unevenly distributed. We are building an organization that helps close that gap.

### Our asili

Intelligence should strengthen our collective capacity to create, sustain ourselves, and determine our future.

Our understanding of intelligence includes human experience, inherited knowledge, community, and the intelligence we are developing through machines. We judge technological progress by what it makes possible for people and by the relationships it strengthens between people, their institutions, and the places they inhabit.

### Who we are and why we exist

Huluku Labs is a research, development, and operating company. We are building across physical infrastructure, intelligent software, and businesses that put those capabilities to work. We investigate possibilities, develop useful systems, and take responsibility for their performance in the world.

Our mission is to turn overlooked resources and useful knowledge into productive capacity that people, businesses, and communities can own and benefit from.

### The problem we are solving

The problem we are solving is the distance between having potential and having the means to realize it. An author has a book but lacks the team to reach readers. A business has customers but lacks the capacity to serve them well. A community has land, energy, and talent but lacks the infrastructure, capital, or commercial relationships to turn those assets into durable opportunity.

We are working across that distance—from the dirt to valuable outcomes.

### The people we serve

Our first customers are creators, business owners, and infrastructure partners with specific problems we can solve and results we can measure. Our broader responsibility includes the people whose work, resources, and communities make those results possible. Commercial success and that responsibility must reinforce each other.

### How we build

We are pursuing vertical integration where ownership and coordination help us deliver better outcomes, retain more value, and reduce dependencies that limit our choices. We build internal capabilities where they create a lasting advantage and work with specialists where their expertise improves the result.

Our breadth requires discipline. Every project must serve a defined customer, address a consequential problem, have a credible path to sustainable economics, and strengthen capabilities that compound across Huluku. We earn the right to expand through what we deliver.

### Ownership and responsibility

Ownership matters to us because it shapes who makes decisions, who benefits, and who can continue building. We evaluate partnerships by their allocation of authority, risk, responsibility, and reward. We pursue structures that strengthen our institution while creating durable value for the people building alongside us.

### How we work together

Our culture makes these beliefs practical. We listen closely to people experiencing the problem. We test assumptions against reality. We distinguish what we are exploring from what we have proven. We reward useful work, sound judgment, reliability, and shared learning. We treat commitments to customers, collaborators, and communities as obligations.

### How we show up

Our brand makes this purpose recognizable. Huluku should feel grounded, thoughtful, inventive, and capable. We speak plainly, show our work, and make promises we can substantiate. Our identity leaves room for the work itself to carry meaning.

### What success means

We are successful when:

- Our customers achieve results they can recognize and measure.
- Our work expands people’s ability to earn, create, own, and make decisions.
- Our businesses generate the cash and capabilities to sustain themselves and keep building.
- Our organization can deliver reliably beyond the founder’s individual effort.
- The places and relationships supporting our work grow stronger through our participation.

## Brand guidelines

### Our foundation

**Purpose**

Huluku Labs exists to expand people’s ability to build, own, and benefit from the systems shaping their lives.

**Asili**

Intelligence should strengthen our collective capacity to create, sustain ourselves, and determine our future.

**Mission**

Our mission is to turn overlooked resources and useful knowledge into productive capacity that people, businesses, and communities can own and benefit from.

**Who we are**

Huluku Labs is a research, development, and operating company connecting physical infrastructure, intelligent software, and businesses around useful outcomes.

We use asili in the sense of a generative cultural core, drawing on Marimba Ani’s work. Its expression here is Huluku’s own organizational foundation.

#### What success means

- Our customers achieve results they can recognize and measure.
- Our work expands people’s ability to earn, create, own, and make decisions.
- Our businesses generate the cash and capabilities to sustain themselves and keep building.
- Our organization can deliver reliably beyond the founder’s individual effort.
- The places and relationships supporting our work grow stronger through our participation.

#### Make the belief observable.

Every project needs a defined customer, a consequential problem, a credible path to sustainable economics, and capabilities that strengthen the wider lab. Before making a claim, name the evidence. Before entering a partnership, make authority, risk, responsibility, and reward clear.

### The mark and the name

Intelligence from the ground up

#### Use the existing identity.

Keep the connected-node symbol and lowercase “huluku labs” wordmark together in their existing proportions. “huluku” is electric green; “labs” is white. Use Huluku Labs in running prose.

#### Give it room.

Use a black background with clear space of at least the height of the lowercase wordmark around the visible mark. Keep source assets intact. Compact navigation may frame out surplus file padding while preserving the visible mark’s proportions and clear space. At small sizes, use the icon when the full wordmark cannot remain legible.

Keep the tagline in sentence case with no comma or period. Do not stretch, redraw, rotate, add glow or shadows, or turn the symbol into a decorative 3D object.

### Green. White. Black.

#### Electric green

#00FF00

Primary accent: the mark, key labels, links, and primary actions.

#### Black

#000000

Primary canvas. Gives the mark, words, and work space.

#### White

#FFFFFF

Headlines, the labs wordmark, and primary text.

#### Supporting gray

#D1D5DB

Body copy and secondary information on black.

Use green deliberately. Primary buttons pair green with black text; body copy stays white or gray on black. Pink and cyan belong to older materials and are not part of this brand direction. Check contrast at the actual size and weight, and use labels as well as color to communicate meaning.

### Clear type. Room to read.

#### Geist Sans

Useful intelligence.

Use for headings, body copy, and actions. Headings use sentence case and a clear size hierarchy. Keep body copy at least 16px with generous line spacing and readable line lengths.

#### Geist Mono

Research · Development · Operations

Use sparingly for short labels, metadata, and technical information. Reserve spaced uppercase for brief labels. Keep paragraphs in the primary typeface.

The custom wordmark remains the supplied artwork. Do not recreate it with a substitute typeface. Use system sans-serif and monospace fallbacks when the brand fonts are unavailable.

### Let the work carry meaning.

#### Composition

Start with the logo, a clear message, and generous space. Use simple alignment and quiet rules to organize content. One primary action per section is usually enough.

#### Images

Use photographs, maps, diagrams, and product views when they explain the work. Identify concept imagery as a concept. Show actual people and projects only with accurate context and appropriate permission.

#### Restraint

Avoid generic cinematic scenes, decorative molecular forms, glow, glitch effects, scanlines, and busy compositions. A fine, low-contrast grid and flat connected linework carry forward the original identity in introductory spaces. Keep them subordinate to the content.

#### Access

Keep content readable without animation. Provide descriptive links, meaningful image alternatives, visible keyboard focus, and layouts that work on small screens. Respect reduced-motion preferences.

### Grounded. Thoughtful. Inventive. Capable.

#### Speak as we.

Use we, our, and us for the institution. Attribute individual views when a person is speaking in their own name.

#### Describe the work underway.

Use we are building, we are developing, or we are exploring when those verbs accurately describe the work. Use completed or operating only when the evidence supports it.

#### Start with the person and the outcome.

Name the customer, the problem, and what becomes possible. Introduce technical details when they help someone understand or make a decision.

#### Be specific and accountable.

Distinguish research, development, pilots, and operating services. Do not imply that a listed site is owned, power is secured, or capacity is available without verification.

#### Keep the institution coherent.

Describe Huluku as a lab working across infrastructure, intelligent software, and operating businesses. Book Blaster is one application. Name partners and their roles accurately; a collaboration does not imply employment or endorsement.

#### A sentence that sounds like us

We are connecting land, energy, compute, and software around work that people can use and outcomes they can measure.

Avoid inflated claims, unexplained acronyms, generic promises to transform everything, and treating automation itself as the result. State what we know, what we are doing, and the next useful action.

### Put the identity to work.

Intelligence from the ground up

#### Social covers

Use the existing logo and exact tagline on black. Keep generous clear space and keep important text away from profile-image overlays and crop edges.

#### Presentations

Use one clear idea per slide. Support claims with evidence, label concepts and forecasts, and use restrained green accents with white text.

#### Website and email

Lead with purpose, the relevant work, and a concrete next step. Preserve the we voice and accurate descriptions of the work underway.

## Website design system — October 21, 2026

The original identity supplies the core visual language: electric green on black, a fine grid, connected linework, large clear type, and square actions. Bring these elements forward as one restrained system across the organization.

### Layout and visual hierarchy

- Use a shared canvas up to 1,280px wide, with 24px side gutters and consistent horizontal rules.
- Use Geist Sans for headlines, body copy, navigation, and actions; Geist Mono for short labels and numbering.
- Page headings use a 48–72px desktop scale, adjusted to 40–48px on small screens. The homepage may use a larger display scale. Body copy uses 16–20px with comfortable line spacing.
- Green is the single brand accent. Use it for selected headline phrases, primary actions, active navigation, and purposeful linework. White and gray carry the reading experience.
- Fine 64px grids may appear in page introductions at low contrast. Keep them behind content. Use flat geometry and restrained connected linework; avoid glow, particles, scanlines, glitch, and decorative 3D objects.
- Favor open columns and clear rules over nested cards. One section should do one job.
- Keep the supplied logo artwork intact. Compact navigation may frame out surplus file padding while preserving the visible mark’s proportions and clear space.
- Primary actions are square green buttons with black text. Secondary actions are outlined or text links. Keep touch targets at least 44px tall.
- Keep content visible without animation; respect reduced motion, readable contrast, and visible keyboard focus.

### Information architecture

| Main destination | Purpose | Supporting destinations |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Work | Explain the connected scope of the organization | Infrastructure, software, business partnerships |
| About | Explain why Huluku exists and how we work | Our foundation, Team |
| Insights | Share what we are learning | Essays by topic |
| Build with us | Start a useful conversation | General inquiry with direct paths to project search, land submission, and founder introductions |

Project site search and land submission remain distinct tasks within Infrastructure. Team sits under About. Brand guidelines and website terms sit in the footer. Existing inbound URLs remain usable; the older Partners page redirects to the main partnership intake and the former Boring page redirects to the business area within Work.

### Page rhythm

Begin with a short label, one clear headline, and a concise introduction. Use consistent local navigation for Work and About. Put detail below the introduction and keep the next action near the relevant content. The foundation’s complete text remains available through clearly labeled disclosure sections. On mobile, replace the desktop navigation with a simple expandable menu.
